"Custom Foal" Options and Broodmare Leases:

Some of our mares are available for a "custom-foal" option. This option enables a client to use the outstanding bloodlines of our mares with the stallion best suited to their requirements. There are options for our clients:

Broodmare Leases

Mares can be leased (on farm) for a breeding season for a fee ranging from $1,500-$3,000

The client is responsible for all repro vet care, a nominal fee for monthly board and the stud fee. Our Recipient herd mares are available for lease for $1,000 depending on availability.

Custom Foal Option

In the case of a custom foal, the Client chooses the stallion (subject to our approval) and is responsible for the stud fee. Sakura Hill Farm pays all costs (board, vet care, farrier etc.) for the mare during the pregnancy and the client buys the resulting foal at a previously agreed up on price.

Boarding of the resulting young horse after weaning until the horse is of riding age is available upon request.

The mares available for this option are identified by a silver star on their webpage. (*Note: Some mares require custom foals to be arranged through Embryo Transfer due to performance careers)

Embyro Sales & Transfers:

Some of our mares are available for embryo- transfer or as embryo donors. Embryos are priced from $1,000-$2,500, stud fee and all repro vet costs paid by the customer.
